Williamsburg formerly of Milton, Iowa- Betty Darlene Meyers, was born August 7th 1934, in Marengo to Arnold & Mildred(Taylor)Roberts. She graduated from Marengo High School. On November 20, 1955 she married Virgil Meyer in Williamsburg, Together they farmed in the Williamsburg area until 1986, when they moved to Milton, Iowa and continued to farm side by side until Virgil's death. Betty then woked part-time at the Van Buren Public Health in Keosauqua until March of 2011. Betty loved to farm, work with her flowers, traveling with her friends, but most of all spending time with her family.

Betty died on Tuesday, July 5, 2011, at Colonial Manor, Amana at the age of 76 years. She is survived by her children: Vickie(Gary)Williams, Kurt(Marilyn)Meyer all of Williamsburg, Iowa and Tammy(Doran)Weatherington of Milton, Iowa; 9 grandchildren: Jessica(Rick)Wardenburg, Nick & Wes Williams, Amber Smith, Adam(Erin)Meyer, Seth Meyer, Jordan, and Ashley & Abby Weatherington; 6 great grandchildren: Kenady & Madison Wardenburg, Logan & Taygin Williams and Brody & Cole Smith; 2 sisters: Sherry (Bill)Smith of Cedar Rapids and Karen(Lowell)Martin of Marengo and a brother: Larry(Marsha)Roberts of Marengo; 2 sister-in-laws Vera(Delmar)Knock and Joyce(Late Larry)Lortz all of Williamsburg; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband in 1991, father & mother in law Julius & Freida Meyer, a daughter Debra and a great grandson Hunter Wardenburg.

Celebration of Life Service will be held 10:30 am Friday, July 8, 2011, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Williamsburg. Pastor Richard Meyer will officiate. Burial will be in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday, from 4-8 pm at the Powell Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Williamsburg. A memorial fund has been established for the Davis County Fair and Immanuel Lutheran Church.
