Andrew Hovey---Andrew Hovey died on Friday morning March 20, 1925, after a short illness with la grippe, following an attack of pleurisy from which he had been making good recovery. At the time of his death he was residing on a farm in the town of Hampden, just north of Bristol.
Mr. Hovey was born in the town of Bristol on February 8, 1862. He had reached the age of 63 years, 1 month and 12 days. Having always resided in the community where he was born and reared he leaves a host of friends that will long remember him for his pleasing disposition and gentle manner.
Mr. Hovey was united in marriage to Helena Quamme in the year 1886. To this union were born six children, the first dying in infancy. The living are George of Spicer, Minnesota, Herbert of Rio, Wisconsin, Peter of Sun Prairie, Mrs. Jas. Weigen of Sun Prairie and Mrs. Carl Skaar of De Forest. Mrs. Hovey preceded him in death having died on Jul 10, 1901. Mr. Hovey was married about three years later to Miss Ella Lee, who passed away in 1905. This union was blessed with one child, Chester of Milwaukee.
In addition to his children he leaves two brothers and two sisters, Peter of San Diego, California, James of Bristol, Mrs. T. R. Boyum, Columbus, and Mrs. A. A. Dahle of Madison.
Funeral services were conducted from the home of his daughter, Mrs. Jas. Weigen at Sun Prairie, Rev. J. J. Walstead, Madison, officiating. Interment was in the Lutheran cemetery at Keyser. Rev. C. G. Naeseth spoke was in charge of the service. The pallbearers were Tom, John, Theodore and Herbert Quamme, Andrew Weigen and Christian Grove.
People from out of town in attendance were the sons, George of Spicer, Minnesota, and Chester of Milwaukee, Mrs. A. A. Dahle of Madison, John Dahle of Dallas, Wisconsin, Mrs. Ingeborg Thue, Sjur Langeteig and Andrew Linde of De Forest.
