She is predeceased by her parents, Margaret Helen Wingo Pettigrew and Howell Pope Boots Pettigrew.
Mrs. Bebeau worked at Fieldcrest Mils in Eden, NC after graduating from Robinson Business School, where she met and married the love of her life, Fredrick Albert Bebeau, or Fred. They married on December 31, 1960, and were happily married for 44 years, until his death in 2004. Peggy was creative and artistic, and was known by many as the owner of The Handy Shoppe for nearly two decades before her retirement. Peggy loved to play cards, watch tennis, and spend time with her extended family, including the family's dogs. She was a loving caregiver and an especially good Southern cook.
A brief graveside service will be held at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in Spartanburg, SC on Friday, July 8, 2011, at 2:00 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Bruce Wilson. Wrenn-Yeatts Westover Chapel is respectfully serving the Bebeau family.
