Champion Competition Badminton Player. Born in Swift Current, Saskatchewan, in August 1909, Walton gained her interest in sports while attending the University of Saskatchewan. She went onto compete in a variety of sports and won college letters and provincial and dominion honors. In 1932 she married and moved to Toronto. In Toronto she concentrated on badminton and developed quickly into one of Canada's best ranking badminton players, both as provincial and western. She won many Toronto titles, as well as dominion, and many invitational titles. In 1939 she captured the embletic World Amateur Championship. In 1950 she was voted one of the top ranking six women athletes in Canada during the first half-century. In 1940 she was awarded the Rose Bowl as an outstanding Canadian Athlete. She was inducted into the Saskatchewan Sports Hall of Fame.
