Age 90, of Bellevue, NE (formerly Nebr. City) passed away on Monday, July 4, 2011 at the Bellevue Medical Center in Bellevue, NE.

Paul was born on March 10, 1921 in Council Bluffs, IA; the son of Edward and Paula (Goos) Barker. He graduated from Louisville High School in 1938 and then attended Nebraska School of Business in Lincoln. He joined the United States Air Force on July 22, 1942 and proudly served his country during World War II until his honorable discharge on Oct. 17, 1945.

Paul was united in marriage to Vada L. Brothers on December 21, 1947 in LaPlatte, NE and to this union two children were born: Nancy and Steve. Paul worked at Morton House in the purchasing department for many years until the plant closed in the 1980's. He was a member of the American Legion and the Nebraska City Elks.

He is survived by his children Nancy Moyer and husband Phil of Bellevue, NE and Steve Barker and wife Roxie of Nebr. City, NE; four grandchildren: Cameron, Shannon, Patrick and Darin; two great-grandchildren: Jacob and Joshua; and other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife Vada on September 14, 2007.

Graveside Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, July 7, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at LaPlatte Cemetery in LaPlatte, NE with military services conducted by the Offutt Air Force Base Honor Guard.

The family will greet friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening (7/6) at Gude Mortuary in Nebraska City
