Lucile Gibbons Powell, 96, died March 10, 1993 in Sandy, Utah.

She was born November 22, 1896, a daughter of William Oliver and Mary Eliza Beecroft Gibbons, in Rockport, Summit County, Utah.

She married Wilbur Morgan Powell, June 24, 1919 in Coalville, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died February 1, 1966. She was a life-long member of the LDS Church, having served in many positions. She was an avid genealogical and temple worker for many years.

Before her marriage, she taught school in Upton, Utah. She had been employed by North Summit School District and U.S. Post Office.

She is survived by four sons and two daughters, Leo W. (Kathryn) Powell, Salt Lake City; Roy G. (Dixie Lee) Powell, Safford, Arizona; Dale G. (Beth) Powell, Farmington, Utah; Bernice (VerNon) Bingham, Sharon, Idaho; Rhea (Norman) Law, Kuna, Idaho; Gene G. (Marlene) Powell, Midvale, Utah; 39 grandchildren; 124 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are three sisters, Olive Sargent, Mary Rudy and Afton Snarr.

Funeral services will be held Sat., March 13, at 2 p.m. in the Coalville Stake Center with Bishop Clint Staples officiating. Friends may call Sat. from 12 noon to 2 p.m. in the Ward Relief Society Room. Interment, Coalville City Cemetery.
