He was a native of Bay City, Texas. He was a Pentecostal, and he was a member of Elks Lodge No. 546, Alexandria, where he was a trustee for two years. He was a plumber with M.C.C. Mechanical Co., Metairie.
Survivors include his wife, Connie R. Arnold of Alexandria; one son, Charles A. Arnold of Alexandria; his mother, Ina E. Whatley and stepfather, Jerry W. Whatley Sr., both of Alexandria; three brothers, Darnell Arnold of Lake Charles, Richey Arnold of Bay Town, Texas and Chris Arnold of Alexandria; one step-[missing].
