Wilmer Eugene Anderson,91,of Allen,Neb.,died Sunday March 23,2003 at Wakefield Health Care Center.Services will be 10:30a.m.Thursday at Frist Lutheran Church,with Gretchen Ritola officiating.Burial in Eastview Cemetery on Allen,Neb.Visitation will be 2-9p.m.with prayer service at 7:30p.m.Wednesday at Thompson Chapel Funeral Home in Wakefield.Wilmer Eugene Anderson born Nov.25,1911,in Fremont,Neb.son of Carl and Edna(Rakow)Anderson.He graduated from Allen,Neb.,in 1930 and went to college at University of Nebraska,were he played in a band.He married Frances R.Ellis on June 25,1933 in South Sioux City.They worked at a Family Drug Store in Allen for 20yrs.While in Allen,he was a member of Frist Lutheran Church,served on Allen Town Council,Allen Fire Department and played with the town band and baseball team.They to South Sioux City,Neb were he worked for James Drug.He was active in Alpha Masonic Lodge 316 and served as president for Kiwanis Club in 1966.He attended Jordan Medal in 1995.member of Aub Bekr Shrine.They moved to Springview,Ariz.in 1969 worked for Rexall Drug for 12 yrs,and sold National Investors Life Inc.The couple returned to Allen in 1979 to care for his mother,then resided in Wakefield Care Center the last two and a half yrs.He survivors include his wife;a daughter Mrs.Junior(Judy)Cook of Allen;a son Mr.Brad(Lynda)of Waldon,N.Y.;a sister,Mr.Don(Barbara)Lehman of Sioux City;four grandchildren;three great-grandchildren.Preceded in death his parents,sister Helen Ellis,a grandson,Steven.
