Glen D. Elmore
CROSSVILLE — Glen Dale Elmore, 83, of Crossville, passed away June 30, 2011. Funeral services were held July 2 from the chapel of Bilbrey Funeral Home, with Bro. John Nichols officiating. A special tribute was given by his son, Aaron Elmore. Interment was held in Crossville City Cemetery.
Mr. Elmore was born May 17, 1928, in Crossville, the son of the late Virgil Elmore and Betty Dean McCormick Elmore.
He served as Cumberland County Sheriff a total of 14 years from 1972 - 1978 and 1986 - 1994. He was a member of West Avenue Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Edwina Colson Elmore of Crossville; daughter, Beverly Wyatt of Crossville and Sharon Brooker and her husband Jason of Dalton, GA; son, Aaron Elmore and his wife Amanda of Crossville; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Oscar Elmore, Randy Elmore, Tommy French, Sonny Lewis, Lucas Turner and Ric Waytt.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Alzheimers Association, P.O. Box 10088, Knoxville, TN 37939-9910.
