He was again bereaved of his companion on Feb 22, 1924. He united with the church at the age of 18 years to which he was faithful until death. He was a kind and loving father. His whole life was spent near Bryan. After several months of illness, he passed away at his home. He leaves to mourn his seven sons and three daughters and nineteen grandchildren, two brothers and one sister.
Dearest father! Thou hast left us,
Thou on earth no more canst roam
But we know that God bereft us
And hast called his spirit home.
Thou has left us sad and lonely
For where …………
There's no thought that cheered our pathway.
Like the thought of coming home.
Fare thee well, oh loving father
We can hear thy dear voice call
That around God's throne in Heaven
Thou will meet us one and all.
Funereal services at the First Brethren church Saturday afternoon in charge of Rev D.M. Gerig of Wauseon and Rev. E.M. Riddle.
