Betty was born in Carbondale, Kansas in 1916. She moved to California with her family in 1938, and began working at an Ice Cream Parlor in Turlock, where she met Ralph Walker, who quickly stole her heart, and they married in 1940. Betty moved on to worked as a dietary aid/cook at Emanuel Medical Center until she retired in 1981.

Betty never met a stranger, everyone was a friend, she had a warm giving spirit. Betty was not only a loving mother and a good friend, but a devoted, loving wife for 68 years. Betty was a great cook, and enjoyed canning, crocheting, knitting and quilting, she was creative, and giving.

Betty is survived by her husband Ralph Walker of Turlock; sons William Walker of Denver, CO, and Richard Walker of Tumwater, WA; grandchildren William Walker, Dawn Stowers and great great grandson Daniel Walker all of Antioch, CA; sisters JoAnn Ladd of Turlock, CA, and Mary Settle of Peoria, AZ. She is preceded in death by her brothers Arthur and Barney Skaggs.

A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Monday, March 24th at Allen Mortuary.
