Tommy Dan was born in a farmhouse near Paris, TN on January 6, 1932, son of Davis and Joanna Highfill.
Tommy Dan was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, J.D. Highfill and his brother-in-law, William Dotson.
Tommy Dan served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict where he began his training as an electronics technician.
Tommy Dan later became a journeyman electrician and electrical contractor. Tommy Dan was a loyal member of the IBEW #611, NRA, VFW, and American Legion. Tommy Dan was a fun-loving prankster and passionate about his family. Tommy Dan loved fishing, camping and boating.
In his later years, he was well known around his neighborhood where he was often seen cruising with his bright blue "rolling stroller".
Tommy Dan is survived by his brother, Robert Highfill, his children, grandchildren, his sister, Lucinda Dotson, her children and grandchildren, the mother of their children, Darlene Highfill, their daughters, Leanne McDuffie and her partner, Nancy Turner, Carrie Homan and children, Sara, Nicolas and his partner, Michelle Macis and Daneen Gronewald and her husband, Patrick, their children, Afton and Maggie.
In honor of his generosity, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
Services will be held at Riverside Funeral Home, 225 San Mateo Blvd.NE, Albuquerque, NM on Tuesday April 15, 2008 at 9:00 a.m. Interment at Santa Fé National Cemetery, Santa Fé, NM at 11:30 a.m. to follow.
