James Bivins of East Branch died suddenly last Sunday night January 6. He had worked as usual on Saturday and seemed to be as well as ever. Funeral services were held in the
Methodist Church at Beaverkill the following Wednesday at 1 p. m., also a brief service at his late home, the Rev. L. William Hones of Roscoe officiating. Interment in the
Beaverkill cemetery. Deceased was about 60 years of age and is survived by his widow Sarah Joscelyn and by seven children by his first marriage. He was a son of Benjamin Bivins and Nettie Hitt. He came to East Branch about six years ago
