Homer E. Cox, age 100, of Enid OK resident, was born July 19, 1910, on a farm near Fairmont OK to Bert Cox and Sarah (Yates) Cox and died Dec. 15, 2010, in Greenbrier Nursing Home. He graduated from Douglas (OK) High School. On Feb. 17, 1932, he married Ruth Weldon. He began working at Snyder grocery Store in Douglas. He also farmed near Douglas, as well as Enid. He worked for Pilsbury and he retired from Champlin Refinery after 27 years. He and Ruth lived in Enid for 74 years and were married for 61 years before her death.
He is survived by his children Dwayne Cox and wife Virginia of Tulsa OK, and Barbara Booze and husband John of Enid; grandchildren Karen Cox of Pennsylvania, Randy and Rene Cox of Tulsa OK, Kevin and Vona Cox of Owasso OK, Steve and Sharon Booze of Maude OK, Tod Booze of Dallas TX, Raeann and David Hunt of Enid, and Daryl and Belinda DeVore of Amorita OK; 13 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Ruth, daughter Beverly DeVore, grandson David Booze, two brothers, and five sisters.
