Canadian politician. Born in Lachine, (Québec), on October 3, 1818. After brief primary studies, he became a carter and in 1838, he started in Montréal a business of trade and export of grain. He was elected legislative counselor of the division of Salaberry in 1856. He was reelected without opposition in 1864, and kept his seat up to the advent of the Confederation, on July 1, 1867. He was appointed senator of the Division of Salaberry on October 23, 1867. He supported the left wing of the Conservative Party. For reasons of illness, he resigned his seat on October 30 1873. He died at his domain of Sainte-Martine on November 13, 1878.
