Marie Anita Shahan Andrus, 80, of Dugspur, passed away October 15, 2006 at her home after a long illness. She was born June 3, 1926 in Gadsden, Alabama, but lived most of her life in Florida. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. John and Mrs. Marie Anita Shahan, one grandson Isaac Andrus and one sister Lucie Farrier.
She is survived by her husband, Ivan Andrus of the home; two sisters, Louise Godbold of Holt, MI and Helene Forester of Baton Rouge, LA; four children, two sons & daughters-in-law, William and Lynn Andrus of Stuart, VA and Joseph and Ruth Andrus of Naples, FL, and two daughters, Mary Bowes of Remington, VA, and Jean Goad and husband Elmer of Dugspur. She is also survived by nineteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
A service was held on October 17, 2006 by Father Eric Kowalski, with burial following in the Goad Family Cemetery
