Olympic Games Gold Medalist Athlete. He was part of the United States Olympic Track and Field Team that competed in the 1920 Summer Olympic Games in Antwerp, Belgium. During the Games he won the Gold Medal in the High Jump, coming in first in a field of twenty-two other participants (including three other members of the United States team) and setting a new Olympic record with 1.936 Meters.
