Betty Lou was the youngest of five children of Jack and Lula.

She and James were married Feb. 14, 1970.

Betty was a stay-at-home mother who raised her two daughters. She worked as a seasonal worker for H & R Block for 18 years.

Betty enjoyed being a leader of the Curry Ridge Hilltoppers 4-H club, where she was an All-Star and charter member. She was a member of the Grafton Wesleyan Holiness Church.
