LOMBARD Tagalie Lucy, 95, departed this life on Sep 8, 2007. She was born in London, England, on June 5, 1912, the day that the grey filly Tagalie won the Epsom Derby, the daughter of the late Robert and Maude French. She was a legal secretary in the office of Lord Randle Holm and served as a London fire warden during World War II.

Preceded in death by her husband, Gordon Lombard; her parents; her sisters Grace and Beatrice; her brother, Sidney; and her first husband, Edward Coates, A RAF navigator killed in 1942 over Italy. She died on the anniversary of her wedding to Gordon that was held Dorchester-on-Thames on Sep 8, 1945.

In 1946, she came to the United States as a war bride. She was a mother, homemaker and sometimes florist, active in community theater in Fairfax, VA. She maintained lifelong friendships with many of her childhood friends from London and also many dear friends from Fairfax.

She is survived by a daughter, Tagalie (Robert) Heister of Lexington; a son, Robert (Rosemary) Lombard of Westfield, NJ; and grandchildren Melissa (Raf) Axen, Aimee and Michael Lombard, Nancy (Eric) Diedrichs, Tricia (Richard) Willett, Christopher (Linda) Heister, Claire (Sean) Belby, and their children.

No visitation. Funeral services will be held at the Church of the Good Shepherd Fri at 2pm, Rev. Robert Sessum officiating. Internment will be at Massachusetts National Cemetery on Cape Cod.
