US Congressman. He graduated from the law department of Cornell University New York, in 1916, moved to Minnesota, was admitted to in 1917 and commenced to practice law in Lynd, Minnesota. During World War I, he served in the United States Army as a Private in the 386th Ambulance Company. After the war he engaged in the insurance business and real estate management, and served in the Minnesota National Guard. In 1939, he was elected as a Republican to the Seventy-sixth Congress, serving until 1941. An unsuccessful candidate for re-nomination, he resumed his previous business interest until his death at age 78.
