Wednesday, 12 June 1963

Funeral services were held for Lod Samuel Alford, 75, of near Homewood, on Monday morning, June 10th, at 10:00 from the Homewood Methodist Church with the Rev. Burrell Williams officiating. Interment was in the Homewood Cemetery with Ott & Lee Funeral Home in charge.

Mr. Alford passed away Saturday [June 8] in the home of his son, R.L. Alford. He had been a farmer and a member of the Homewood Methodist Church.

The survivors are three daughters, Mrs. J.M. Gibson of Dallas, Texas, Mrs. C.R. Hegwood of Biloxi, and Mrs. K.W. Wall of Meridian; three sons, R.L. Alford, J.H. Alford, both of Route 2, Forest, and C.E. Alford of Dallas, Texas; two sisters, Mrs. Ben Barnes of Hattiesburg, and Mrs. R.E. Vaughn of Forest; three brothers, R.B. Alford of Newton, A B. Alford of Lancaster, Calif., and J.E. Alford of Forest; eighteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

The pallbearers were Turner Alford, Baker Alford, Billy Ray Alford, Jimmy Alford, Bill Griffin, and Bill Lovette.
