He was a retired Louisiana Revenue and Taxation Department employee. Visiting at Welsh Funeral Home from 1 to 9 p.m., with rosary at 7 p.m. Wednesday, conducted by Catholic Daughters of America. Visiting at the funeral home from 8 to 9:50 a.m. Thursday, with rosary at 9 a.m. Thursday, conducted by the Usher Society. Religious services at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church at 10 a.m. Thursday, conducted by the Rev. Miles D. Walsh. Entombment in Resthaven Mausoleum. Survived by wife, Mrs. Amelie P. Toups, Baton Rouge; a daughter, Jean Toups Krake, Belle Chase; three sons, Melvin P., Paul L. And Alan R. Toups, Jr., all of Baton Rouge; two sisters, Viola Toups Melancon, Gonzales, and Nettie Toups Melancon, Thibodaux; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was a member of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church and the Usher Society. He was a graduate of Thibodaux College. Memorial donations may be made to Cancer Society of Greater Baton Rouge, 650 Steele Blvd.70806.
