Walter Pascal Martel, 86, died March 9, 2010, at the Elliot Hospital, Manchester NH, following a brief illness. He was born in St. Francois du Lac, Quebec, on April 19, 1923, the son of Moise and Helene (Nadeau) Martel and had been a resident of Manchester for many years. He served in the US Army during WWII and participated in the Battle of the Bulge. Prior to his retirement he worked as a carpenter with Harvey Industries and was a 58 year-member in the Carpenters Local 118. He was a well known photographer and specialized in candid wedding photography for Rheault's Photography. He enjoyed nature, the outdoors, and mountain climbing.

Members of his family include his wife of 54 years, Pauline G.A.(Chapdelaine) Martel of Manchester; son Jules P. Martel of Manchester; daughter Claudine E. Durette of Manchester; brother Robert Martel of Manchester; sisters Frances Chouinard of Hooksett NH and Jeanne Landry of Springfield IL; two grandsons; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
