He enlisted in the U. S. Army 16 Nov 1942. While in the states, he was stationed at Camp Maxey, Texas, Camp Swift, Texas, and Ft. Dix, NJ. We went overseas in September, 1944. He saw action in France, Holland, and Germany. He was killed near Aachen, Germany, while attached to Co. B. 407th Infantry.

His remains were returned to Carrollton, GA 9 Sept 1948 and buried 11 Sept 1948.
