By 1910, the Woltmans had moved to Falls County, where Ed and his 8 brothers and sisters worked on the family farm. He married Elsie Menzer on January 2, 1930. Ed and Elsie farmed in the St. Paul community in Falls County and raised two daughters.
Ed loved farming and singing hymns. He had a strong, deep voice, a dignified bearing, and a lovely German accent. He liked a good joke but always stressed hard work over foolishness.
Ed died on March 30, 1982 in Marlin, Texas. He is loved and missed.
