Nebraska Governor. Graduating from Nebraska Wesleyan University, in 1925, he earned a law degree the University of Nebraska, in 1926 and a masters academic degree in school administration in 1932. He went on to have a successful career in education, teaching at schools in Nebraska, Iowa and as serving as the superintendent of schools in McCook, Nebraska. In 1958, he was elected as a Democrat the 30th Governor of Nebraska, serving until his death at age 62. While he was in office, a comprehensive traffic safety program was endorsed and industrial growth was promoted.
