Augusta Ernastina Blaha was born on March 19, 1930, the daughter of Alois and Erna (Wachalovsky) Blaha in Vienna, Austria. She was raised and educated in Vienna.
Susan was married to Daniel Owens Jaicks on March 17, 1956, in Ramstein, Germany. They were transferred to several Air Force Bases throughout the country which included: Ramstein, Germany, Brindsi, Italy, Misawa, Japan, Wakanai, Japan, and Minot, North Dakota. Daniel retired in 1974, and Susan began work as a Retail Supervisor at the Air Force Base Exchange. Daniel passed away May 30, 1986. She retired in 2001, after working 28 years, and then moved to Summerville, SC, to be closer to Daniel's, Ronald's, and Deborah's families. She then worked for Steinmart until ill health forced her to retire in December of 2005.
She was a former member of Little Flower Catholic Church, Minot, and was a current member of Little Flower Catholic Church, Summerville, SC.
She was a very loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her family was very important to her and she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was one who always put others first. She will be missed dearly by all who knew her.
Surviving family includes: sons, Daniel M. (Joanna) Jaicks, North Charleston, SC, and Ronald (Brenda) Jaicks, Summerville, SC; daughters, Susan Jaicks, Minot, ND, and Deborah Jaicks, Summerville, SC; grandchildren, Larry (Amanda) Bellew, Lisa Bellew (Joshua Schoenberg), Sydney Jaicks, and Daniel H. Jaicks; great-grandchildren, Gabrielle Bellew and Parker Bellew.
Susan was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and two stillborn infant boys.
