Born on November 15, 1921 in Hornick, Iowa, to Clara and Hermann Steinhoff. Her sisters were Eva and Lois. After the death of their mother, their father remarried, and had brother, Jack. In Denison, she met her beloved Vic, and they married in 1944. They had 3 children: Vicki, Dallas and Vic III. After 28 years in the Air Force, Vic retired, and they moved to Anaheim, CA where she lived out her life. Preceded in death by husband, Vic; eldest son, Dallas; sister, Eva; and great grandson, Nolan. Survived by daughter, Vicki and husband Michael; son, Vic III and wife Linda; daughter-in-law, Jan Byers; sister, Lois and husband Carl Kluver; brother, Jack and wife Gloria Steinhoff. She has 2 grandsons, 3 granddaughters and 9 great grandchildren, and cousins, nieces and nephews. Memorial service Thursday, March 31, 11:00 am, Covenant Presbyterian Church, 1855 N. Orange-Olive Road, Orange, CA 92865. Private interment at Riverside National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, consider making a donation to Covenant Presbyterian Church, and on Memo Line, "In Memory of Elda Byers". She loved others because Jesus Christ first loved her.
