Jesse Jacobs was the oldest child of Dr. J.J. Jacobs and Sarah Watson Jacobs. He had a younger brother, Dewey Jacobs, (F-A-G memorial #50360903), and a sister, Fay Jacobs, (F-A-G memorial #48423033).

Jesse married Anna Louise Neblett, the daughter of Joseph Emmett and Evalina "Lina" Corban Gay Neblett. Anna Louise and her parents roots began in Tennessee in the Nineteenth Century, but the family moved to Arkansas around 1910. Jesse and Louise, as she was known, were the parents of two daughters; Carolyn and Ann L. Jacobs.

He was a former resident of Ozark, Arkansas, but he and his family resided in Ft. Smith for about 30 years. He was self-employeed as a druggist in Ft. Smith.

Jesse's death was believed to have been caused by shock following an accident in which a motorbike collided with the car he was driving. Mr Jacobs alighted from his car, walked a few paces and fell dead.

He was laid to rest in the Jacobs Family plot in the Highland Cemetery at Ozark, Arkansas.

Note: The birth year on Jesse's marker reads 1896. However, that date is incorrect. The correct date can be found by looking at the 1900 US Census information, where his birth month and year were listed as June, 1895. Also, on Jesse's registrations for both World War I and World War II, he listed his birth year as 1895.
