She passed away January 31, 2008.
The Burden’s moved to Duncanville, TX in 1975 where Shirley became a very active member of the community.
She was involved with the Duncanville Regional Arts Association and for 26 years was a part of ESA, an international philanthropic sorority that worked on raising money for cancer and scholarships for young women.
Shirley worked for Dr. Allen Schneider as an office assistant for 20 years.
She loved traveling, but most of all loved spending time with her grandkids.
Her husband of 39 years, Alfred Leslie Burden, Sr. preceded her in death in 1997.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday February 8, 2008 at First United Methodist Church of Duncanville, 403 S. Main Street.
