11/12/1931 09/29/2009 Sally Rae Wagner passed away peacefully Sept. 29, 2009, at home in the presence of her family. Sally was born in Genoa, Ill. to Harry and Rae Adler, and after high school went on to Grinnell College and the University of Iowa. While at airline stewardess school, Sally met and married the love of her life, Jim Wagner, and in 1955 they moved to Portland to start a family. During their 54 years of marriage, Sally was a homemaker and kept very involved in her children's school activities. She also supported Jim's successful business by handling the accounting and taxes. Sally enjoyed volunteering her time at church activities, Project Linkage and other organizations. One of Sally's real passions was cooking and baking and her beautiful trays of Christmas treats will be greatly missed. While she enjoyed traveling the world with family and friends, her favorite vacation destination remained the family beach condo at Lincoln City. Sally loved life, especially when she was spending time with her family and friends. Sally is survived by her loving husband, Jim; children, Jamie Wagner, Sue Sanders and Rich Wagner; seven wonderful grand-children; sisters, Joann Packard and Nancy Deacon; and many friends. Sally will be sorely missed, but we are comforted knowing she is now at peace in Heaven with God. A celebration of life will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, 2009, in Sayler's Old Country Kitchen restaurant in Southeast Portland. Memorial contributions may be made to Providence Cancer Center or Providence Hospice.
