JAMES RICHARD "JIM" BODE 64 OF JEFFERSON CITY. died THURSDAY JANUARY 31, 2008. at his home, after a courageous battle with LEWY BODY DISEASE. HE was born SEPTEMBER 17, 1943 IN ST LOUIS MO. ason of FRED F. AND ESTER M (SCHEPPERS) BODE. HE was a 1963 graduate of HELIAS HIGH SCHOOL and attended LINCOLN UNIVERSITY. ON AUGUST 10, 1968, he was united in marriage in JEFFERSON CITY, TO MARY STANFORD who survives of the home.

jim OWNED AND OPERATED JIM BODE CONSTRUCTION COMPANY FROM 1981-2005. PRIOR TO JIM BODE CONSTRUCTION COMPANY he worked for FRED F. BODE FLOOR COVERING FROM 1963-1976 and with WITT AND JUCKETTE NURSING HOME CONSTRUCTION COMPANY FROM 1976-1981. HE was a veteran of the UNITED STATES ARMY NATIONAL GUARD FROM 1964-1970. JIM was a member of CONCORD BAPTIST CHURCH and taught SUNDAY SCHOOL prior to becoming ill. HE enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time at the LAKE OF THE OZARKS.

HE is survived by two daughters, JAALA SPRATT and her husband JAMES OF JEFFERSON CITY, BRIA ARNEL and husband JEFFREY OF JEFFERSON CITY, his parents FRED F. AND ESTER M. BODE OF JEFFERSON CITY. three granddaughters, ALEXA SPRATT, KAILEY SPRATT, AND ANNIE SPRATT ALL OF JEFFEROSN CITY. a sister in law JO ANN JOHNSON OF CENTERTOWN, A a brother in law, JOHN STANFORD and wife JUDY OF OSAGE BEACH, two sisters, ELAINE BODE- OLIVER OF JEFFERSON CITY, SHARON MESSIMER OF THE WOODLANDS, TX. two brothers, STEPHEN BODE OF JEFFERSON CITY. GERALD BODE OF ROCKFORD IL. and numerous nieces and nephews.

FRIENDS will be received from 4-7p.m. FRIDAY at the CONCORD BAPTIST CHURCH IN JEFFERSON CITY. FUNERAL SERVICES will be held at 11a.m. SATURDAY FEBRUARY 2, 2008 AT THE CHURCH WITH REV. DR. MONTE SHINKLE officiating. INTERMENT WITH FULL MILITARY HONORS will follow in RIVERVIEW CEMETERY.
