ASHEBORO- Nannie Barbee Morton, 94, passed Sunday, June 22, 2008, at Carteret General Hospital, Morehead City. Funeral service at Central United Methodist Church; Dr. Mark J. Key and the Rev. Barry L. Queen officiating. Burial will be at Randolph Memorial Park. Native of Richland, preceded in death by her husband, Leven Morton. Surviving are son, Ervin Morton of Greensboro; daughters, Ann M. Davis of Greenville and Janet M. Peterson of Raleigh; sisters, Martha Hodnette and Grace Frazier, both of Richlands; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.-Pugh
