Susan "Suzi" Clark Barru-Wieczorek
January 19, 1949 - November 14, 2007

Suzi passed away in her sleep, at the Grand Junction V. A. Hospital, after a lengthy illness, that gradually took her breath away - but she was a breath of fresh air for anyone lucky enough to have her life touch theirs. "If you knew Suzi, like we knew Suzi, oh - oh , oh what a gal!" Suzi came by her big heart, generous and creative spirit, joy of life, and sense of humor naturally, as the first of seven children, born in Hayden, Colorado, to Jay and Meg Clark (who preceded her in death).

Most of her siblings and their families live in Grand Junction: Jeff (Shelly) Clark, Pat (Jenny) Clark, Mike Clark, and Sally Webb. Her sister, Martee Baker, lives in Las Vegas, NV., and her sister, Gretchen, lives in AZ. Her son, Todd, his wife, Chica, and their son, Tristen, also live in Grand Junction. Suzi's daughter, Megan, preceded her in death, in 2004.

Inspired by and cultivating creativity, Suzi nurtured family and friends, by sharing her love of the arts: the art of good conversation, story-telling, humor; the culinary arts (gourmet meals and baking); sharing paintings, music and writers that moved her, made her dance, laugh, or simply provided a particular soundtrack or backdrop, to her life. Her sense of style was ... Suzi. As Suzi became more and more unable to live life to the fullest - as she always had - she was lovingly cared for by her devoted husband, Joe, and raising their granddaughters, (Megan's daughters, Tymiya "Miya," 14, and Taiselyne "Taiz," 8), gave her a sense of purpose and enriched her life.

In addition to her husband's loving care, she was uplifted and encouraged by the love of her cherished "Aunt Jo", Jo Klendshoj of Slater, CO. , and Mesa, AZ. The love of Suzi's friends and family was "good medicine, " for which she was always thankful. Suzi: your family and "chosen family," and beloved friends, all thank you for sharing your life. We are better people for having known you, you are always in our hearts, and we'll dance in your memory.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, November 16, at 1:00 p.m., at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery of Western Colorado, '0' Road, Grand Junction, Colorado. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care of Western Colorado, P.O. Box 60307, Grand Junction, CO., 81506.
