Passes Away Sunday Afternoon at His Lead Home
J.W. Burnside Dead. Passes Away Sunday Afternoon at His Lead Home.
After an illness of several months, J.W. Burnside died of consumption at his home in Lead, 417 Samo avenue, on Sunday afternoon at 1:30.
He had been a resident and an employ of the Homestake company since 1900, coming here with his wife in that year. He was born at Blue Grass, Iowa, on May 2nd, 1865; married on Oct. 2, 1889 to Miss Rosa Cousins, of Davenport, Iowa.
Besides his wife he leaves five children to mourn his death, the eldest of whom is Mrs. F.J. Varie of Deadwood, others being R.S. Burnside of South Lead, and the Misses Ida, Bertha and Edna. There are four brothers and one sister - Amos, of Alzada, Mont.; Stevens, of Lake Park,Iowa; James, of Wabash, Neb.; Eck of Weyburn, Canada and Mrs. Eliza Vaureen of Bedford, Iowa.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Methodist church, to be conducted by Rev. Calfee, interment to be made in South Lead Cemetery.
