Born in Fort Wayne, he was a civil engineer with Union Oil Co. for 35 years.
He was past president of the Cumberland Trail Library System and of the Olney Library Board. He was also past judge of the Election Board in Richland County Ill.
Surviving are his wife, Edna; a daughter Lana Browne of Whitehouse Station, N.J.; a sister, Clara Steele of Fort Wayne and two grandchildren.
Services were at Trinity Lutheran Church, Olney with interment in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, Hobart.
