Merlyn Carl Osborn

Merlyn Carl Osborn, 87, formally of Talmage, died November 15, at St. Mary's Hospital in Nebraska City. Mr. Osborn was born on May 14, 1908, the son of Carrol L. and Elsie Butz Osborn. He was baptized in the Charter Oak Christian Church in Talmage and served as an Elder there in later years.

Osborn graduated from Talmage High School and attended the University of Nebraska where he was a member of Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity. On March 30, 1930, he married Virginia Lee Lewis in Salina, Kan. The couple had two sons, Merlyn and Denis. Mr. Osborn was a farmer in the Talmage area until he moved to the Nebraska City Manor in July.

He is preceded in death by his parents and survived by his wife, Virginia, son and daughter-in-law Denis L. and Malee Osborn of Canton, Geo., and son Merlyn Robb Osborn of Talmage. He is also survived by a sister, Mrs. Edward (Joata) Bottcher of Talmage, two grandchildren, nephews and many other friends and relatives.
