Daughter of Arthur Hughes & Docia M. Allen and buried in their plot in Wayside Cemetery.

Obituary: At the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Hughes, Gussie Helen Hughes passed away Monday, June 10th, of that dreadful disease tuberculosis of the lungs. Gussie was born in Barron county May 1st, 1896, and was 16 years, 1 month and 10 days of age. She leaves to mourn her early demise her loving parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Hughes, one brother and four sisters, Mrs. J.R. Brown of East Arland, Mrs. A.E. Bagley of this city, Hattie, Bessie and Bennie who are at home here. The funeral was held at the home Thursday, June 13th, at 2 o'clock p.m., Rev Kershaw officiating. The remains were laid to rest in the Barron cemetery.

We have lost our darling Gussie,
She has bid us all adieu;
She has gone to live in heaven,
And her form is lost to view.

Oh, that dear one, how we loved her!
Oh, how hard to give her up!
But an angel came down for her
And removed her from our flock.
