Fay Bell Tompkins Rath, Ponca City resident, died Monday, May 26, 2003 at the Via Christi Oklahoma Regional Medical Center. She was 79

A funeral service will be held at 2PM, Saturday, May 31, 2003 in the chapel of the Trout Funeral Home with Bob Innis, Pastor, Word of Life Christian Center. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park.

Fay was born on March 31, 1924 in Holtville, CA, the daughter of William and Alva (Curry) Floyd. She obtained her early education in Okemah and graduated from high school in 1942. On July 14, 1945 Fay married John Tompkins in Okemah, where she was a school teacher.

Fay enjoyed writing and reading her Bible, playing the organ, gardening and fishing.

Survivors included her husband, Jim; son, Johnny Tompkins of Dallas, Texas; daughter, Wanda (Tompkins) Wolf of Marland; son, Jimmy Tompkins of Little Rock, Ark.; son, Jerry Tompkins of TN; one sister, Eula McElhammon of AZ; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband and a brother, James Floyd and a sister, Ina Floyd.

Casket bearers will be Jerry E. Tompkins, Johnny L. Tompkins, John N. Tompkins, Jason L. Tompkins, Jimmy D. Tompkins, Timothy Tompkins, Joe LeClair, Rick LeClair, Tim Winkelman.
