RACINE - Mr. Earl E. Meddaugh, 81, died at Ridgewood Care Center on Saturday, April 11, 2009. He was born in Flint, Mich. on August 12, 1927, to the late Earl and Mary (nee: Saitz) Meddaugh. Mr. Meddaugh served our nation with the United States Army from 1945 until 1947. On June 2, 1951, he married the former Dorothy Cooper in St. Edward Catholic Church, where he remained a longtime member. He retired from Ladish Company after over 30 years of employment. In addition to his loving wife, Dorothy, his survivors include his children, Joseph (Terry) Meddaugh, Mary (John Schmit) Meddaugh, Tom (Carol) Meddaugh, Theresa (Jeff) Bankenbush, and Lawrence (Josy) Meddaugh; 14 grandchildren; one great- grandchild; brother, Bernard (Lois) Meddaugh; sister, Barbara (Willard) Lockwood; brother-in- law, Joseph Cooper; as well as nieces, nephews and other relatives. In addition to his mother, father, and step-father, he was also preceded in death by his daughters, Jane and Mary (infant); his sister, Gloria Thomas; and brother, Frank Baril. Mr. Meddaugh's life and Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Edward Catholic Church, 1425 Grove Avenue, on Wednesday, April 15, 2009, at 6 p.m. with Rev. Allen Bratkowski officiating. A private burial will take place in the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove. There will be a visitation in the church on Wednesday from 5 p.m. until the time of the Mass. His family wishes to acknowledge and thank the entire staff at Ridgewood Care Center for the attention and loving care he received these past nine years. It is truly appreciated.
