Phyllis Lucile Mosbo was born Feb. 14,1913, at Lyle, Minn., the daughter of Olin and Nellen Barton Arlington. She was baptized as an infant in the Spencer Methodist Church. Her father was superintendent of schools in Lyle, Minn., also in schools in Iowa; including Milford, Spencer and Oelwein, where Phyllis received her education. She also attended Mankato State College and received her teacher's certificate. She taught in Rembrandt for a number of years.
Phyllis was united in marriage to Alton Mosbo on June 23, 1940, at Oelwein, and to this union four children were born; Patricia, Phillip, David and Thomas. They lived all their married life in the Rembrandt area. Phyllis was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday School, was on the Church Council and in Women's Fellowship, she was on the Rembrandt Library Board, enjoyed doing things with her family and visiting with friends, quilting, sewing and taking part in other community activities. Due to failing health she went to live with her son, David in Rochester, Minn, in 1992 and in August she entered the Maple Manor Care Center. It was there that she passed away on January 31, 1993.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Alton on June 17, 1980 and three brothers, Donald, Gerlad and Kenneth.
She is survived by her children, Patricia and her husband, Steve Meckstroth of Bloomington, Ill.; Philip of Huntington Beach, Cal.; David and his wife, Linda of Rochester, Minn, and Thomas and his wife, Coral of Milton, Wisc., seven grandchildren, one brother, Keith Arlington and his wife, Lucille of Cedar Rapids and a host of other relatives and friends.
