She retired from the old Louisville Police Department after 25 years in the traffic bureau as a T.C.O.II.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, James H. Bruce Sr.; daughter, Donna J. Bruce; and parents, Alma Florence and Charles Skirvin.
She is survived by her children, James "Bo" Bruce (Cindy), Jamesetta White, Cheryl Autry (Jo) and Alma Johnson (Terry); eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and half brothers, Earl and Michael Webster.
Her funeral is 2 p.m. Saturday at Fern Creek Funeral home, 5406 Bardstown Road, with private burial in Zachary Taylor National Cemetery. Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Friday and after noon Saturday.
