DAVENPORT - Funeral services to celebrate the life of Frank J. Resnick, 71, of Davenport will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, August 28, 2008, at the Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Resnick died after an extended illness on Saturday, August 23, 2008, at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf.
Frank Joseph Resnick was born July 15, 1937, in Davenport, a son of Carl and Afra Victoria (Geiger) Resnick. He proudly served our country in U.S. Army. He was united in marriage to Lynn Ann Welch on January 24, 1959, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Clinton. She preceded him in death July 5, 2001. He had been a computer programmer working out of the same office for the former, Bendix, Litton, Nothrupt Grummen, companies.
Frank was an avid sports enthusiast. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, basketball and baseball, or whatever sports his brothers were playing. He loved playing cards with his brothers, but his greatest joy in life came from spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Memorials can be made to Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House.
Survivors include his daughters and their spouses, Ann and Dale Scherer and Donna and Joe Holzerland, all of Davenport; five grandchildren, Scott (Sarah) Holzerland, Amie (Brian) Wood, Angela (Tyler) Schmidt, Josh and Eric Scherer; five great- grandchildren; a brother, Edward (Marj) Resnick, Hudson, Ohio; two sister-in-laws, Loris Resnick, and Joan Resnick, both of Davenport.
His parents, and his brothers, Jim and Richard, preceded him in death.
