Truman S. Bowers was a son of the late Albert O. and Ethel Taylor Bowers. He served in the Marines during World War II, serving in Guam and Iwo Jima. He graduated from Clemson College in 1947 and worked in dairying. He is survived by his wife, Florence Bowers, and children, Albert Bowers of Colorado and Marie (Davis) Jefferies of Leesville. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Hannah Jefferies of Clemson and Clara (Wes) Slice of Chapin, two great-grandchildren, Makenna and Landon Slice of Chapin. He was predeceased by sisters, Amorette Bowers, Lera Holstein, and Gladys Fulmer.
