-------
After an illness of but a few days from double pneumonia which followed an attack of influenza, Donald Boyle, age 35 years, one of the best known and best liked men of the local force of the Clover Leaf offices, passed away yesterday afternoon at 12:45 o'clock at his home, 601 Washington avenue.

The funeral arrangements will not be made until relatives living in other states have been communicated with.

Donald Lyman Boyle was born at Michigantown and was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Josiah L. Boyle. When but three years old he moved with the family to this city and has since resided here. He was a member of the graduating class of the local high school in 1901 and immediately afterward entered the employment of the Clover Leaf. At the time of his death, he was in the office of D. W. Cross, superintendent of motive power and equipment, and was considered one of the most reliable and valuable employes of that division.

His father passed away on Nov. 30, 1916, and on Dec. 21, 1917, his mother died. Surviving are five sisters, Mrs. E. O. Burget, Misses Frannie and Ada Boyle of this city, Mrs. Theodore Debereaux of Birmingham, Ala., and Mrs. A. C. Bernard of Knightstown, Ind., and also a young son, Lyman, Jr.

He was a member of the lodge of Elks and for the past year has been secretary of the order.

Mr. Boyle was clean handed from his boyhood up. There was a genuine wholesome goodness in his nature with an entire absence of cant or parade in his moral purity. He loved the right and did it as a matter of course and from pleasure of doing the right thing rather than from the compunctions of duty. He was an honorable and enterprising citizen, and the community was better for his life. His sympathies were keen, and many is the person who was the unknown recipient of his tender heartedness. Yet he was modest of his good acts and most of all deprecated publicity of them.

The announcement of his passing was received everywhere with regret and the entire community shares the bereavement with the members of the immediate family circle.
