Mrs. JULES J. MARCOUX
Mrs. Ida M. Croteau Marcoux, 73, wife of Jules J. Marcoux of 809 County St., Bennington, died this morning at Putnam Memorial Hospital after a long illness. She was born in St. Cecile, Quebec, Sept 25, 1900, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clement Croteau. Her mother's maiden name was Vachon. She received her education in schools of Canada and Newport. She was employed at BenMont Paper Co. for 20 years and at Union Carbide for 23 years. She was a communicant of St. Francis de Sales Church.
In addition to her husband, to whom she was married July 4, 1927, at Sacred Heart Church, she leaves two daughters, Mrs. Bernadette Gemmell of Bennington, and Mrs. Rita Lockwood of Scotia, N.Y.; six grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren; seven sisters, Sister Clemence Croteau of the Daughters of the Holy Spirit in Burlington; Mrs. Mary Rouleau and Mrs. Alberta Allain, both of Leominster, Mass., Mrs. Clara DeCominck, Mrs. Rachel Desmaris and Mrs. Antoinette Archamboult, all of Fitchburg, Mass., and Jane Croteau of Linwood, Mass.; four brothers, Ovila, Paul and Theodore Croteau, all of Fitchburg, and Romeo of Westminster, Mass.; a brother-in-law, the Rev. Msgr. Charles Marcoux of Burlington, and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Yvonne Lampron of Bennington; nieces, nephews and cousins.
The funeral will be at 11 am Monday at St. Francis de Sales Church, where the Liturgy of Christian Death and Burial will be offered. A prayer service at 10:30 at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home will precede the funeral Mass. Burial will be in the family plot in Park Lawn Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home Saturday from 7 to 9 pm and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm Sunday. The wake service will be Sunday evening. Memorial contributions may be made to the Bennington Rescue Squad through the funeral home offices.
