On Thursday May 23, 1946, the angels called to be with them Mrs. Fannie Emaline Harned Bandy, daughter of the late George and Margaret Davis Harned, who was born October 31, 1866, departed this life May 23, 1946, making her 79 years, 6 months and 23 days old. She was married to Silas Taylor Bandy, April 23, 1895, who preceded her in death 30 years ago. To this union three children were born, George Glenn Bandy, who preceded her in death 16 years ago, Nannie Maggie Chappell of Big Spring, Kentucky, Buren Bandy of Louisville., with whom she made her home. Also surviving are five step-children, Rev. Thoms Bandy, of Franklin, Kentucky; Shelby Bandy, of Guston; Mrs. Charles Black of Eldorado, Oklahoma; Mrs. Owen Gillingwater, of Bewleyville, sixteen step-grandchildren, twenty-five step great grandchildren and one great great grandchild, two sisters, Mrs. Bettie Hicks, Constantine, Kentucky, Mrs. Amelia Penick, of Independence, Kansas; two brothers, Dr. E. C. Harned, of Louisville, Kentucky and Ben F. Harned of Custer, Kentucky. Mrs. Bandy became a Christian early in life and lived a devoted member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church at Irvington until death. She was a devoted mother and loved by all who knew her. After death the body was taken to the Manning Funeral home and prepared for burial, then brought to the home of her son Buren Bandy where it remained until Sunday, May 26 and brought to Custer where the funeral was held in the Methodist church conducted by the pastor, Rev. Frank Perkins, who delivered a splendid sympathetic sermon. Pallbearers were from Louisville, all friends of the Bandy family and fifteen flower girls, all great nieces. Singing was rendered by Mrs. Wesley Harrington, Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Brown with Mrs. Tom Mitcham at the piano.
