William was the son of Henry Tucker and Submit Wheeler. He was a birthright Quaker, and his gravestone reads "1 mo 21, 1812" and "4 mo 25, 1902." The birth and death dates I have been given are not correct according to Quaker dating. But for his 1900 census entry William did give Jan. 1812 for his birth. It would be instructive to know who put the Quaker dates on his gravestone, and where the dates I had been given came from.
