Joice G. Heisler , 70, of Patty Lane, South Bend, Ind., died after an illness at 1:50 p.m. on Monday, March 13, in her residence.
Mrs. Heisler was born on Nov. 20, 1929, in South Bend, to Edward and Ella Godfrey, who both preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by a brother, James Godfrey; and by three sisters, Marge McBain, Helen Davis and Evelyn Brandon. On Oct. 20, 1951, in South Bend, as Joice Godfrey, she married James H. Heisler , who died in 1985.
Joice had been employed by Koszegi Leather Products, and was a member of the V.F.W. #624 (Roseland) Ladies Auxiliary.
She is survived by three daughters, Martha Opaczewski, Lou Ella Zsedely and Vickie Snyder, all of South Bend; two sons, Robert M. Heisler and Mark A. Heisler , both of South Bend; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Betty Rowe of South Bend; and by a brother, Marvin Godfrey of Largo, Fla.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 17, in the Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 S. Kemble Avenue. Cremation will follow.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today, March 16, and from one hour prior to services on Friday in the funeral home.
