Mr. Beakey came to the Black Hills in 1880 and worked for the Homestake company for many years, leaving here about five years ago for Butte where he remained until about three months ago when he returned here and went to work again for the Homestake. Had he lived until the 26th of this month he would have been 59 years of age. Mr. Beakey leaves two children, Mrs. Charles Burroughs, of this city, and son, John, who when last heard from was in Telluride, Colo.; also a sister Mrs. Felix Hamil of this city, and another sister, Mrs. John Muldoon of Sherbrook, Canada. His wife died some twelve years ago in this city and he has also buried six children. The funeral arrangements have not been made as yet.
